Developing the Next Generation of Diverse Canadian Music Artists

The Blueprint Artist Development Program is the Tune In Foundation’s flagship initiative — a groundbreaking 12-week incubator for emerging and mid-career artists from racialized and underserved communities in Hamilton and the surrounding region.

In partnership with the Hamilton Arts Council, the Blueprint is built for artists by artists, where creative talent meets professional strategy. Participants are mentored by industry professionals, learn tangible skills, and receive the support they need to navigate the evolving music industry with confidence, excellence, and authenticity.

Why It Matters

Too often, artists from marginalized communities are left out of professional opportunities due to lack of access, representation, and mentorship. The Blueprint exists to change that — providing a clear path for growth, visibility, and sustainability in the music industry.

What Artists Receive

Over the course of 12 weeks, participants gain hands-on experience and insider knowledge through weekly sessions that cover:

📸 Photoshoot Techniques & Media Training

📣 Pitching, Networking & Booking Gigs

Each cohort ends with a public showcase performance as part of Hamilton Arts Council’s hArt Music Series, with select artists earning a paid opportunity at Fresh Up Fest, presented by Sonic Unyon and supported by Ontario Creates.

Applications & Recruitment

Recruitment opens every March, with programming running from April to June.

Artists are selected based on passion, potential, and commitment to growth — not popularity metrics.
