Welcome To The Blueprint!

Developing the Next Generation of Diverse Canadian Music Artists

The Blueprint is Tune In Foundation’s flagship 12-week artist development program, created to equip emerging and developing artists with the creative, professional and industry knowledge needed to build sustainable careers in music.

Presented by Tune In Foundation in partnership with the Hamilton Arts Council, The Blueprint combines hands-on education, mentorship, industry access, professional feedback and live performance opportunities, helping artists move from talent to strategy, and from development to opportunity.

Why It Matters

Too often, artists from marginalized communities are left out of professional opportunities due to lack of access, representation, and mentorship. The Blueprint exists to change that — providing a clear path for growth, visibility, and sustainability in the music industry.

What Artists Receive

Over 12 weeks, participants receive hands-on learning and mentorship in areas including:

  • Artist branding, styling and visual identity

  • Music business and career strategy

  • Grants, funding and artist resources

  • Stage readiness and performance coaching

  • Vocal development and audience engagement

  • Mental wellness and sustainable creative practice

  • Professional photography and media readiness

  • Pitching, networking and booking opportunities

  • Industry adjudication and individualized feedback

  • Live performance experience

Each Blueprint cohort culminates in a professionally produced public showcase, followed by opportunities for selected artists to gain additional paid performance and industry experience through Tune In Foundation's network of community, arts and music-sector partners.

The experience doesn't end at the showcase. Blueprint alumni remain connected through the Blueprint Collective and may be considered for paid performances, community programming, industry opportunities and future Tune In Foundation initiatives.

Program Highlights

  • 12 weeks of intensive artist and professional development

  • Small cohort model designed for meaningful mentorship and individualized support

  • Facilitators and industry professionals from Hamilton, the GTA and beyond

  • Professional photography, performance development and industry adjudication

  • Public finale showcase with live performance experience

  • Continued alumni engagement through the Blueprint Collective

  • Pathways to paid performance and professional opportunities

  • Built specifically to address access, representation and mentorship gaps facing emerging artists

Applications & Recruitment

Applications typically open each March, with programming taking place from April through June.

Artists are selected based on artistic potential, commitment to growth, readiness to participate and alignment with the program, not follower counts or popularity metrics.

Participation is intentionally kept to a small cohort so artists can receive meaningful feedback, mentorship and individualized support.
