Tune In Foundation respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information when you visit tuneinfoundation.org, register for a program or event, make a contribution, volunteer, work with us, subscribe to communications or otherwise interact with Tune In Foundation.

1. Who We Are

Tune In Foundation is a Hamilton, Ontario-based nonprofit organization that provides music education, artist development, youth leadership, mentorship and arts-integrated community programming.

Tune In Foundation is not a registered charity and cannot issue official charitable donation receipts. Contributions support our nonprofit programs but are not eligible for charitable tax credits. We may provide a payment confirmation or acknowledgment for your records; this is not an official donation tax receipt.

In this policy, “Tune In Foundation,” “Tune In,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Tune In Foundation.

2. Scope

This policy applies to personal information under Tune In Foundation’s control that is collected through our website, online forms, donation and registration tools, email, telephone, social media, in-person activities and program administration.

  • Donation and transaction information, such as contribution amount, transaction date, billing contact information and payment status
  • Communications information, including questions, feedback, survey responses and communication preferences
  • Media information, such as photographs, video, audio or testimonials when appropriate permission has been obtained
  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages and cookie or analytics data

Payment-card information is submitted to and processed by our third-party payment provider. That provider’s privacy policy and security practices apply to the information it processes.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary for the purposes identified at or before collection.

4. Youth and Participant Information

Some Tune In Foundation programs are designed for youth. We may collect limited information about youth participants that is necessary to administer programs, communicate with participants and families, provide appropriate supports and help maintain a safe program environment.

Where appropriate or required, we seek consent from a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians may contact us with questions or requests concerning a young participant’s information.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through a general website or contact form unless we have specifically requested it for a program-related purpose.

5. How We Collect Information

We may collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you complete a form, register, apply, donate, volunteer, subscribe, contact us or participate in a program
  • From a parent, guardian, school, community organization or referral partner with appropriate authority, consent or another lawful basis

  • Through service providers that operate forms, payment processing, email communications, website hosting or other tools on our behalf

Our website and forms may use services provided by Squarespace, Jotform and other service providers. Information submitted through these services is also subject to their applicable privacy practices.

  • Review applications and registrations
  • Deliver and administer programs, events, workshops, volunteer opportunities and participant supports
  • Communicate with participants, parents or guardians, volunteers, partners, funders and supporters

  • Provide contribution confirmations or acknowledgments
  • Manage safety, accessibility, scheduling, attendance and program evaluation
  • Send newsletters or promotional communications where we have consent or are otherwise permitted by law
